Let Us Praise the Lord for a Bountiful Harvest!

As we prepare for this Thanksgiving season we are so thankful for what God has done through your support of StreetLight Mission this year. We would like to share some of this year’s highlights some have been completed, some are in progress:

Food Pantry – In the first nine months we gave out more than 12,000 bags of groceries. Our Food Pantry serves a vital role to our community, as there are so many families in need of food right now. However, as a faith based mission we operate on a very tight budget. If we do not have money we cannot spend money. Regrettably we have run out of funding for our food pantry and until we receive additional donations we have had to suspend this service. We stand in faith that with your support we can get this vital service to our community back up and running quickly.

Vacation Bible School – This summer we hosted 30 children and teens at our Vacation Bible School with a team of 12 teens and young adults sharing the Good News of the Gospel with them. We sent 19 children to summer camp and fall retreats where they discovered the love of God and embarked on a life long relationship with Him as the Lord of their lives.

Mentoring – We hosted monthly women’s and children’s events helping them learn of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Our facilities are packed out with about 45 women and 25 children in attendance. We just launched a program for the more than 20 girls and teens called Girls Night In. Our young men’s mentoring continues to challenge men to be godly men, husbands and fathers.

Coats – As we approach this winter we have already given out over 400 coats to our neighbors in need.

Foot Care – The majority of those get around by walking. As such foot care is extremely important. On November 23rd Soles for Souls led by Dr. Michael Goldberger will provide foot exams, new footwear and new socks to 100 adults.

Thanksgiving – We are preparing to give out groceries to more than 300 families to ensure that they have food for Thanksgiving dinner.

Christmas Presents – We already have 450 children signed up to receive Christmas presents and it is only November.

Christmas Party – We are preparing for our Christmas party where we will serve more than 500 men, women and children who otherwise would not have a Christmas. To learn more about our Christmas Party CLICK HERE
