When the Lord called us to start StreetLight Mission we were determined to do it with the utmost integrity. As such we became members of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM). Through some of the top leaders in the field of Christian services to the poor and homeless, we learned how to develop and manage a mission of excellence As such StreetLight Mission has laid a solid foundation of integrity. A Board of Trustees, chaired by Mr. Steven Vorrius, governs the Mission. Our Board consists of strong Christian leaders who adhere to the Word of God.
This year we are thrilled to have completed our 3rd audit of our financials and practices by an independent auditor. Every year we have received a completely clean report. StreetLight operates with transparency posting our financials and Audit Reports on our website http://streetlightmission.org/financials/
The mission continues to operate efficiently with more than 80% of all donations going directly to serve those in need. Approximately 10% is used to raise funds and to communicate with our supporters. The primary cost for this is mailings to donors to share what is going on at the Mission. Approximately 10% is used for management costs including salaries for those who handle finances and leadership when they are not directly serving someone in need. For a small mission early in its history this is a notable achievement. We are able to do so much with so little (only 3 full time and one part time) staff because of our many wonderful volunteers. If you are one of them, from the bottom of our hearts we thank you and if you are not, we would love if you would go to our website and fill out a Volunteer Application and get involved.
Additionally, StreetLight Mission President/CEO Reverend Karen Yuschak and her husband Reverend Paul Yuschak are accountable to the leadership of their denomination to ensure that they serve according to the Word of our Lord.
Pastor Karen was elected by Mission leaders from throughout North America to serve as a Trustee on the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM) from 2013 through 2015. CLICK HERE to learn more about the AGRM.
